Peak District
Celebrated as the
first
National Park in England and Wales, the Peak District is well-known for its
history of runner vs trail.
At the head of the Hope Valley and in the heart of the Peak District, Castleton hosts the event. Climbing out of Castleton through the famous Winnats Pass and over Mam Tor, the routes (10K, Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra) cross from the white to the dark peak. While the longer distances incorporate the Edale valley and Kinder Scout, each of the routes provide glorious panoramas across the National Park.
Peak by name and peak by nature - this event is for the adventurous and boasts some tough trails!
Castleton is easy to access via road or rail. The train stations of Edale and Hope are close by with only a short taxi ride needed. This makes the location very accessible either for the day or if you want to make a weekend of it!
